Today programme / RNAS veteran

Worthy of a mention, as I was driving into work this morning at about 0840 I had Radio 4 on. They were interviewing Britain's oldest surviving war veteran, who is 108, totally lucid (sorry, I didn't make a note of his name) and spent his (great!) war as an aircraft mechanic and airborne gunner in the RNAS, including flying over the Somme.

I think that the gent was rather bored by all the fuss (well, he has that right), but nonetheless it was a fascinating account. Presumably those who missed it, can listen to the interview on the Radio 4 "listen-again" website, which I'd recommend strongly.
