Angle of Attack indicators

Does anyone out there know who invented the Angle of Attack indicator? Also, were the AOA gauge and AOA indexer products of the same person/company?
Thanks in advance.

Dave: Ralph Hazlett Upson took out patents on an AOA indicator, I think in the 1930s. He was a pioneer balloonist who later worked for Goodyear Tire and Boeing. Check out the Safe Flight Instrument Corporation www.safeflight.com They claim some pioneering work in the field, too.
