Exclamation Vulcan Bombers at Midway Island - 27 Sqdn

I have a cockpit of a ex 27 sqdn Vulcan, who sniffed the North Sea as well as Midway Island area. Looking for retired (!) Vulcan crew to tell me what exercises were carried out as well as any other stories or info.
Don't be shy! I have a long term project to record your stories. The Cold War has yet to be fully told and time is getting on.

Have you looked of late at the Military section? There's a sticky there all about Vulcans and the MAD period.

They were they for an operational task.

Unless you want a visit from the People in Black Omegas, that's all you need to know.

27's role in the 1970s was Maritime Radar Reconnaissance, not bombing. Who's 'maritime' they might have been sniffing out is irrelevant; rest assured that they had much fun basking on their own private Pacific Island.

I hear the black omegas are on a lease back option these days!

Looks like I will have to wait until 2012 then. Shame many tales will be lost by then.

Surely sniffing a bit of air won't land me at MI6 offices? Even if Geoff Hoon says OK!

903,

I could tell you what we did, but I'd have to shoot you afterwards, suffice to say it was a blast.

nothing matters very much, most things don't matter at all.
