Colour pictures/slides 1950s 1960s

Help required please.
I am chasing sources of dramatic colour pictures/slides of BOAC/BEA aircraft from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s for a book project.
Also I require colour prototype pics of British built aircraft such as Viscount/VC10/Britannia etc.
I have checked airliners.net and will be soucing some from there but colour from the 1950s/1960s appears to be very scarce.
Any help sincerely appreciated.
Best

Geoffrey

If you go to my website at http://community.webshots.com/user/hastingsgan and check out any of the Katunayake/Negombo albums (there are 6). If you let me know if there are any photos that may be of interest to you I can rescan them to a higher resolution. There are a few of the Speedbird Britt and Comet on their Far East Proving Trials as well as others in colour from the 1950's.

Hi GT,
Possibly the greatest and most underused resource on the web at the moment: www.britishpathe.com - they have colour from the 60s and 70s, and you can get stills from their films on the site. The site's a bit fiddly to use at first, but the content is amazing - ALL the Pathe newsreels from 1888 to 1970 (ish).

Finding stuff is hard - you'll look in vain for the aircraft's name, but try 'Magnificent New British Airliner' (?!) and you'll probably get something! Start with 'Farnborough' and try the advanced search to use the date function. Has a lot of US originated material too - loads on the Martin Mars (which I was reaseaching)for instance, but only found by using 'flying boat' as a search.

Cheers
James K

For instance, putting BEA or BOAC in shows up some fascinating films - including film '105.22' 'Historic Aircraft' which is a film of the Nash collection being restored at Heathrow - but you'll search in vain under 'Nash Collection' etc.

Coincidentally, have just unearthed a slide of the prototype Trident in BEA livery on its world sales tour at Don Muang circa '62. We were treated to a demo ride - very nice too, probably helped by the 'freebie' drinks. I can scan the slide if required but as a 'raw' scan it comes out at about 30 Mbs.

Thank you all so much for the time and trouble to post.
Sorry I have been out of the loop for a few days hence my late reply. I will get back to your offers of help shortly.
Very Best
