Smile Happy Birthday Flight!

At the risk of offending the nay-sayers, 'tis gone midnight, it's December 17th 2003 in the UK, so HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY manned, powered, directionally controlable aviating! Hope you get a telegram from the Queen.

Those of you who will get airborne today, enjoy you lucky so and sos. I believe the forecast is good, so hope to at least see siome airliners in the Biggin hold when it gets light...

Cheers!

Hear hear, HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY manned, powered, directionally controllable, and leading to the development of practical flying machines, aviating. I do not suppose that the addition of those words will prevent us from being run over by something which has 18 wheels, but yippee, nonetheless.

See the REDS are flying up the Thames at 1430 hrs to commemorate the event, pity that terrestial TV have decided not to honour the occasion, shame on them!

Sadly, John, the NOTAM indicates that they will be just popping in from the north to fly over Hendon (the museum, presumably), only remaining in the London zone for a couple of minutes, so it sounds as though they won't be running along the Thames, which is a pity.
