Does anyone recall this incident, maybe late 60s?

I believe that it went off the end of 28R into a cabbage field in fog. The story goes that the F/O walked to a nearby house to raise the alarm.

It was Air Canada and they ran off the end of the then 28R into a cabbage field. I believe it was an aborted t T/O.

It couldn't happen today. For one thing the cabbage field has been built on.

Cabbages

They were either January King or Savoys worth about 6d gross each, I knew the farmer a grower/salesman in Brentford Market (now Western International). I think the vulcan and Air India also contributed to his compensation fund.
