A number of us at BA have warned many of us prune watchers as to the fate of this a/c for some time. Unfortunately it takes up a parking stand and was originally on the BA Ops Training Budget (Cranebank) described as a Minibus for accounting purposes.
Training are not prepared to pay for it any longer as it cannot be used for training with the exception of spraying it with water simulating deicying. Even that function renders the a/c to small for realistic use. It cannot be used for tug training as its offset nose wheel cannot be connected to a towbarless tractor.
Training have put a bid in to retain one of the grounded SSCs. The problem with any a/c retained for training purposes is maintaining them and parking costs etc. As there are a number of Tridents allready on exhibit I doubt it will be saved. RIP
