Question Stringbag monoplanes!?!?

Sorry to trouble this learned body with yet another daft question. Whilst at Shoreham on Saturday, I thought I heard the commentator refer to an incident where owing to the necessities of war, a Swordfish was flown minus it's top wing. Does anyone have any gen on this?

Hi Synthetic
The is a story (I have been told it is TRUE) that in 1941 a Stringbag Mk ! war virtualy a monoplane after severe flack damage, and that this A/C flew in this condition from the Western Desert to the UK and that it flew perfectly well with the Top Wing virtually missing.
