Singapore banned all transit passengers at very short notice. Even if they stayed on the aircraft. It wasn’t done because of the pilots, I was done because of Singapore.

The ferry to Dresden had a block time of 19 hours 14 minutes. Wonder if they collected any fatigue data for the Sunrise study??

So the TOD was over 20 hours , I suppose it was a private flight.

TOD was actually 60:30. Flew home Berlin, London, Darwin, Sydney immediately after arriving, no hotel anywhere.

All crew were Training or Management Pilots…..no additional* overtime for them.

*Training Pilots already get a pre-determined overtime amount each roster to account for the overtime flying they don't necessarily get when training and checking.

No they were all line pilots. They have roughly 30-36 hours off then pax back to Sydney on the QF12, a 787, on Friday night. One crew had 15 hours in LAX; probably long enough if you're confined to quarters in the Long Beach hotel.
There's 12 paxing crew on the 12 all heading home after the respective last services.

Good news. I think that this project will now, in a post COVID world, be more important that it was going to be prior. I feel for the 747 and A380 pilots, both current and aspiring, as I believe those fleets will most likely be finished much sooner than expected. But let’s move Onward and upward. A new dawn perhaps.

Guys the high & mighty Project Sunrise was something for pre global pandemic days

Who could forget the epic photos of QF leaders landing in Honolulu with loud shirts after indulging in a beverage or two
, or was this a delivery flight of the "game changer" . What a truly edifying happy snap that one was, how truly iconic it was for a brief moment. All so hard to remember , there was just so much big talk , so much chest beating & the hype (as well the delays in action & decisions) was just endless

Qantas is not going to order any aircraft for years & PS is dead

Stop dream time it won't help you rebuild your careers & for many that will mean finding either (a) a new airline or (b) a new career

That generosity of spirit won’t be lost on those that are left when the carcass of the business is resurrected. Qantas has asked for - and got - a 30% pay cut each time they’ve asked. With bailout cash I wonder what they will ask for next time??
