Well spud, looks as though you may be in for some company.

29 responses so far. A bit depressing seeing so many on 12+ months though, especially the DE guys!

81 votes so far with quite a range of waiting times. Does anyone know of any candidates that have been on hold then been given the "thanks but no thanks" or invited to re-interview after a certain amount of time?

It's been quite a while since anyone has posted here, just wondering if people have heard anything?

There’s still slow but steady recruitment happening. Not as busy as last year, but not dead. I would say it’s probably been 2:1 direct entry to cadets recruited. It seems anyone who was on the hold file previously that didn’t have direct entry requirements or wasn’t a traineeship level 1 (UNSW, 200 hours etc) is being overlooked. Forecasted to be steady recruitment for the foreseeable future as people progress through to mainline, Jetstar etc.

Point of order:

People do not progress to mainline, Jetstar etc. They have to resign from their current role and if successful, start at the bottom of the new entity.

The main reason for recruiting hitting a brick wall currently is the 3 cancelled courses at mainline (sep-nov).

No resignation involved. Transfer from one to the other with sick leave, LSL, staff travel seniority all recognised from the original date. Yes you go to the bottom of AOC seniority list, but that’s just because every airline has their own system for seniority. It’s not an employment related thing to be transferred, just an individually used system for promotion etc.

So looks like the Trainee Level 2 dropped off the careers page... Just direct entry remains...

Looks like the day care centre is full.

Has anyone on the hold file heard anything?

QF announced they were suspending recruitment due to the virus, but from what I gather on the Mainline recruitment thread, it seems unclear if this will apply to operational positions.

Strange?

I just received an email from both Linkedin and Seek stating that Qlink are looking for DEC First Officers.

Hold file at only 98% perhaps?

bodybag 25th Feb 2020 04:42

What is a DEC First Officer?

pinkpanther1 25th Feb 2020 05:24

No recruitment until at least mid year

spektrum 25th Feb 2020 10:23
