It appears that the Commutair Airlines website has been changed to say they're now accepting E3 candidates:

It's about time too that it got updated.
A couple of years ago, I think I remember seeing a regional or two advertise on the AFAP jobs board. Interesting times... |
Given the extreme shortages at Atlas/Southern, has anyone reached out to see if they are doing E3?

Try asking your pertinent question here: https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/a...ir-hiring.html |

All three of AA's wholly owned regionals now have that bonus retention scheme mentioned earlier. I'm at one of them and am leaning more and more towards taking it. I have less than a decade to mandatory retirement and would like to be with AA prior to that (I want their retirement travel bennies for trips home to Oz). I can wait it out for my turn for the direct flow to AA and at the same time apply for direct entry - and collect up to US$150k either route.
We're hiring like gangbusters now and it seems barely holding way against those leaving. |

Yep. And the retention bonus conditions specifically includes going to AA via flow or via direct entry.

This from the US forum, Airlines sponsoring foreigners in the USA:
"Chatting with a buddy who is at National/N8 he said they hired a number of Aussies on the 744F and they are in class now... Private owner and pay and conditions are low for the 744 and lots of churn lately so suspect the owner wants to keep folks around without upin the pay... From what I understand the E3 is tide to the Company and in turn keeps the folks there... That was current info as of yesterday..." No details offered about what these particular Aussies have for background. Gettin' interesting... |

Yep, it happens relatively frequently, at least prior to COVID.
It's an interesting situation, legacies need their regionals for cheap flying, but they also need pilots. |

I received this email today. GoJet isn't the worst place in the world to get your hands on some jet time, and they're definitely taking E3s. |
Got the same email - I think it was sent to everyone with an app in via Airline Apps
Has anyone heard of them taking Aussies post-COVID that didn't already have an FAA ATP? |
Despite the optimism it looks like at this stage for E3s only those with ATP/ ATP written complete or had a prior CJO/contact with the airline pre-covid are being contacted for the interviews.
Very interested to hear if anyone's applications have progressed recently without any of the above. |
Folks with ATP-CTP and ATP written but no ATP cert are also being contacted?

I didn't know that. Only a few weeks ago United announced that they would only hire through Aviate out of Commutair and a few others.

Yeah I haven't had any luck, other than PSA shooting me an email asking me to confirm flight hours and experience etc. Fingers crossed bit more luck soon.

Hey guys, been reading through the pages looking for the info I'm after and can't seem to find any concrete info on how to obtain a Visa as a Kiwi in to the US.
I've read somewhere that kiwis can apply for E1/E2 Visas but the airlines aren't considering them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Would love to hear from any Kiwis in the US that made the move. So far all I know is, greencard lottery, through marriage or E3 for Aussie nationals. Cheers. |
