Fiji Airways A330 Heavy Landing
Word is it did a ~2.9 G landing in NAN. A little bit harder and it could have been very ugly.

Heavy landing was in Syd. 2.9G requires Airbus approval to release and it appears to have been pencil whipped by AMSA the handling agent.

Wasn't one of your members that released it was it steve?

Could have been one of our members but it still doesn't make it right.

Lion Air make these blokes look like hard landing amateurs!
Accident: Lion B739 at Surabaya on Feb 1st 2014, hard landing On Mar 24th 2014 Indonesia's KNKT released their preliminary report stating, that the aircraft was on approach to Surabaya's runway 28. At 1000 feet AGL the crew disconnected the autopilot, tower reported the winds from 270 degrees at 16 knots. The aircraft touched down on runway 28 but experienced four bounces with the last fifth touch down resulting in 3.86G vertical acceleration. Two passengers received serious, three minor injuries. The passengers disembarked normally, the injured were taken to a hospital. http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...il-strike.html Low hour sub-continental FOs are turning Lion Air into an accident looking for a place to happen. Best comment on the thread so far: Metro man - 4Gs isn't a hard landing, it's an accident. Still, their air fares are cheap. Apparently this is the key metric for passenger satisfaction these days. |
Accident: Lufthansa A346 at Tokyo on Mar 18th 2014, hard landing A340-600 waiting for new gear in Narita. |
Near catastrophe is what I herd too.
Although could be wrong but story I was told is that they slammed it on in Sydney, around the 3G Mark. Didn't do an inspection for heavy landing and then dispatched it back to Fiji. Engineers in Fiji found severe cracking in the gear system and requires new landing gear. Or something like that. Again, just what I herd. If correct, what a muppet. |
SMOC
Narita has probably the highest sphincter factor of any airport in the network since the close of Kai Tak. On a bad day Narita can bite you on the arse big time unless you are prepared to give it away over the fence and try again. Yet nowhere is it publicised and taught that this is so. More metal has been bent at Narita than any other airport over the past 10 years. |
Again, just what I herd. If correct, what a muppet. |
Psyco joe... Really, you are going to threaten me on a public forum... Grow up. (Was it you?) what were you planning on doing to me for making a comment on a rumour network... You just need to calm down a bit.
I was merely stating what I had herd. And the last comment, if you can't figure it out, was relating to IF they knowingly turned the aircraft without telling anyone about the landing does qualify as being a muppet! given how many peoples lives were at risk. And what would have happened if nothing was picked up in Fiji. Again, Don't threaten me on here unless you are prepared to do so in person...:ugh: |
Are a group of muppets really called a "herd" I'm not so sure. I "heard" it could be a gaggle....
