QEPM just a Guideline

Well there you have it. In the words of Mr Harris the policy and procedures don't need to be followed they are just a guideline.Although a CASA requirement all can be ignored. YIPEE !

Theft of company property policy - ignore
Equal opportunity & Harrassment policy - ignore
Drugs and Alcohol policy - ignore
Cardinal Rules - ignore
OH&S policies - ignore

The guys been out of his depth for years, now he's proved what we've known all along. QF have never followed their own procedures, they make them up as they go.

Can someone wake up CASA, or are they in the chairmans lounge.

What are you referring to?

He's saying that the proc's manual only applies to some employees who stuff up, not management if and when they choose not to follow it for whatever reason.

This is standard management 101 tactics. One rule for them and one for the rest of the workforce. Fools.

As a rough guess, I assume it has something to do with:

Qantas under pressure over alleged breaches - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

ALAEA Fed Sec 23rd Feb 2012 10:50

Qantas has not followed it's own procedures related to Change Management. It forms part of the new CASA Safety Management System that sits in various Qantas Procs manuals.

For Engineering it is the E & M Procs and in all cases requires management to attain a commitment from all stakeholders after consultation and before endorsing the change. The stage puts a fresh set off eyes on human factors issues, training etc... and ensures that all persons associated with the change understand why it is taking place and do not get really fkn pi$$ed off and do bad stuff that could ground an airline.

It is all supported by ISO and EASA standards and is compulsory. So, lets see if CASA also think like Qantas who told us it was just a guideline. The Minister may have to remind them why they put Regs in place.

Elliot Ness and Co

Nobody at QF will get pinged. QF have also spat in the face of the Regulator on matters to do with just about every part of their SMS, just culture, and change management of course.
CASA would not even think of blinking in QF's direction without permission from Albaneses office first, and as If he would give Skull and Co the nod? No chance in hell.
Anybody who doesnt believe QF are untouchable needs their head read.

I guess the new enterprise agreement 'job security' clause
is getting tested here.
Well, that didn't take long...:yuk::yuk::yuk:

One thing thats really starting to get on my nerves is where exactly is QSRM in all of this. For an example, look at the A380 modelling. How many B2 guys are there compared to the original system. You train up a few framies who then supposedly know it all in regards to the aircraft, yet the real experienced guys are under-utilised in order to save a couple of bucks. And the same will eventually happen with type-A licences and us B1's. And then there is this LAME-less tarmac fiasco.

I guess it's more important these days to go around auditing toolboxes.....:ugh:

buttmonkey1 23rd Feb 2012 23:49

the analogy between the modern bmw and an 800 or 330,
as told by joyce, has clowns like billy shorten and shadow
minister abetz sprouting the same crap through the media.
worse than that, it's comming down the line via nassen into
lmo management ffs. way out of touch with coalface reality.
any news on the qf / casa 'discussions'?
