Ohh well. i applied a few days after the cadetship was posted.

Just recieved the Sorry your application did not process any further E-mail.

Always next time I guess..... :(

TequilaMockingbird 6th Sep 2012 02:38

Sorry to hear that Muzza2284 and nt.pilot. Best of luck for next time.

the_rookie 6th Sep 2012 03:42

I also just recieved my email saying I had missed out on this intake, bit of a bummer but now I can focus all my attention on gaining my cpl!

brianca 6th Sep 2012 06:56

That sucks and makes no sense. I am up to the assessment day in Melbourne and have 125 hours and only an ATAR of 59.95 however I have completed 5 CPL exams and thought I'd be way over qualified but I have no idea where their heads are at.

Good luck with your future in aviation!!!

Out of curiosity, Did anyone currently doing year 12 make it to the next stage of the interview process?

dwillfly 6th Sep 2012 11:08

So is your performance on the cognitive test the only factor they take into consideration in order to get to the next stage?

Congratulations brianca! Good luck for the next stage.

pilotchute 7th Sep 2012 00:43

Yes

At this point only people who have passed the initial test will be progressed. If you didn't have the mins you wouldn't have been offered the test to begin with. That is unless all the people have now been tested and they are looking closely at your applications already for the cull.

TequilaMockingbird 7th Sep 2012 01:45

Cheers pilotchute! I was orginally under the impression that they would have some kind of weighted or points system based on your education, cognitive test results, flight hours, etc.

Thanks again for clearing things up.

EDIT: Just got an email. Got cleared for the next round.

cadetzero 9th Sep 2012 13:05

Havnt been on the scene for a year or two as doing something different but thought i would send in an application. Trade background, now studying a med degree , PPL holder 4 yrs with all CPL subject credits 180 hrs 25yrs old and did not make any stage. I do feel better that i did send an application in, as i can imagine i would be kicking myself if i never did... so good news theres one less guy in the race! lol

p.s first post in a number of years, felt compelled to give a spill on my background as it may benifit others in knowing the nature of other applications that were received. Which was something i used to search for in these cadet topics when i was in school looking at cadetships back when Qantas had them. Have heard/seen alot of changes in the industry over the last 7 years and i am not even employed in the industry. But hey thats a different topic..

Congrats and best of luck to all those that make it! :)
cheers

nt.pilot 11th Sep 2012 00:19

so does anyone know of details of an advanced cadetship? They mentioned something on thier fb page to someone about a traineeship sort of thing, sounding a bit like the qantaslinks traineeship..

cadetzero 11th Sep 2012 00:38

hmm maybe too overqualified for that role too.. ah i got get off these cadet forums its doing my head in after 2 posts... good luck nt.pilot :)

Ade1038 11th Sep 2012 01:18

Well done to those whom have made it to the inteview stage :D. Can any of you give us an idea of how many questions in the 20min Cognitive test you got through and how many you think you got correct? I made it up to question 28 and think I got 2 or 3 incorrect but have missed out on an interview.

brianca 13th Sep 2012 00:51

Hi JJFLY,

The assessment day in Melbourne was 11th/12th September and I think Sydney's is the 2 days following that 13th/14th with Brisbane's being next week 17th/18th.

brianca 13th Sep 2012 00:52

Hi Ade1038,

I made it up to 31 but skipped 2, I have no idea how many I got correct. In the 2nd cognitive test I think i skipped 2.

nt.pilot 13th Sep 2012 06:05

so anyone gone to the group interview yet? what was it like? what kind of candidates (age/experience etc..) ? any info on what thier plans are for another cadetship??

:confused::(

Macbethh 14th Sep 2012 05:19

I completed the cognitive testing, but skipped through a few questions. Im going sent to Sydney on Wednesday from the Gold Coast for testing. How has everyone else gone? Do we know how many are left?

Captainhui 16th Sep 2012 09:09

Does anyone know that the Adelaide interview start yet?
I'm still waiting for the news.

Cheers,

Macbethh 16th Sep 2012 10:02
