I’m not disagreeing with what you’re saying 43Inches, but this isn’t exactly one of those countries…. Yet

43”… after nearly 30 years working and living overseas, I can think of maybe half a dozen such countries, and these are not anywhere an intelligent human would willingly visit. Military airports everywhere on the other hand are, understandably, a different kettle of fish.

80 posts dedicated to the bully boy mentality of Australian ground staff and is a symptom of how we are losing our individual liberties incrementally. We are probably the most authoritarian state in the free world.

Regarding section 82 of the Defense Act.
As I sit in my study, i have a large Ken Duncan panorama photograph of Sydney Harbour. It clearly shows the Garden Island Naval port and several Navy ships.
Should I quietly burn this photo

Said in jest.

You'd be suprized at the places you can get in trouble, the UK has numerous spots, including the Towet of London, the Eiffle tower at night is apparently illegal to photo, the sistine chapel. Most are copyright oriented. A Brit was dragged away in Egypt because he inadvertantly filmed a military helicopter while landing in Cairo, two Aussie were detained in Iran because they flew a photographic drone near a military installation. Numerous countries you'd have to be careful even at tourist hotspots if you happened to accidentally capture security/police/military in the background. I'd say most western countries probably discourage, if not ban PED/phone use on the tarmac.

Yes, plenty of not completely tinpot countries popular with tourists ban photography of police stations transport infrastructure etc. usually as they are in perpetual disagreement with a neighbour.

And I think it was Greece that has pixelated Google earth images of some of their airports?

Apart from Channel 7 filming everything for their awful Border Security Australia show. They don't even ask the arriving passengers for consent, it's not a public place. One rule for the masses and another rule for the purveyors of tabloid entertainment. It just teaches the drug smugglers what not to do.

Will they don’t exactly ask but IIRC there’s a sandwich board sign that lets you opt out.

I’m guessing if you miss it it’s too late….

We hang on sooo tight in Australia! It’s a f😁😁😁ing joke! These poor airport workers are being paid peanuts to live in one of the most expensive countries in the world, but take it upon themselves to go on wild power trips and staunch members of the public over a harmless and innocent holiday selfie?? Give me a break. It says so much about the ego and authoritarian nature of this beautiful but twisted country that we live in. I feel sorry for tourists that visit here and experience that warped side of Aussies. They must leave feeling intimidated and damaged by these knobs. Likewise it brings smiles to my face when I fly overseas and see ground staff smiling and even volunteering to take pictures of holiday makers proudly enjoying the stay in their country. It’s exactly the same with check and training in Australia, holding on SO tight. Relax, and just keep letting the world go round you morons.

I always envisaged the goons eagerly snapping on the rubber gloves when an individual identifies themselves as NOT wanting to appear on their silly television show... It would hardly be a stress-free opt-out.
