Worrals in the wilds 4th May 2011 00:16

I'm sure they'll step up.
Actually a corporate fat cat that I know recently flew Virgin for the first time (Qantas didn't service that destination and he wasn't going Jetstar). He was most impressed, didn't mind paying for food etc. and raved about the service on both trips. He also loved the pay per entry lounge concept, though I don't think he used them this time.

I doubt he's the only premium flyer in Australia looking for a Qantas alternative.

Jabawocky 4th May 2011 00:17

I like it actually. :ok:

WITW......I agree, Virgin should get some traction. They do not need it all, just a nice chunk to start with.

zappalin 4th May 2011 00:38

Don't mind it to be honest, the 737 comes up a lot better than the A330 that's for sure but it would have been very easy to have the whole tail silver... That little bit extra would have saved it from having that "stop-gap leased aircraft" smell about it...

JB has said that by the end of the year, our international product V Australia and Pacific Blue will also operate under the Virgin Australia name.

Anthill 4th May 2011 00:55

Yes 1a, but with the crew under different agreements.

built4flying83 4th May 2011 01:13

thanks for the info antill. Forgive my dumbness, i know what Cruise Fo is (second officer) but what is SFO, TFO???

I agree with servo too, i standby the KISS method.

c173 4th May 2011 01:18

love it- minimal yet effective...look how successful apple have been with their minimalistic design

edit: must agree a silver tail that fades into the white fuselage would have topped it off

GAFA 4th May 2011 01:41

Silver tail would have made it a great scheme simple and stylish. Perhaps in a few years we will see a tweek.

Oriana 4th May 2011 01:44

The ad.... sassy, slick, chic.

The livery... not so much.

The lack of imagination at the QF group.... now even more apparent.:ugh:

34R 4th May 2011 01:50

What a great ad!

Sure beats "good onya Jetstar!!"

It's a fairly plain livery, and after the anticipation of the last few months I doubt anything they put up would have pleased everyone.

I'm sure it will grow on you, over time. Enough talk though, time to present a serious alternative.

I hope they go gangbusters.

Cost Index 4th May 2011 02:05

Now that's an ad! Very British, stylish and sophisticated yet fun. I agree some more Silver would've been perfect. :ok:

Sorry to go (slightly) off topic. But just for nostalga about 30 years ago an Australia Airline had an all Boeing fleet and introduced a new huge wide body Airbus. Just a trip down memory lane

Anthill 4th May 2011 02:17

No worries.

SFO-- Senior FO.

TFO--- Training FO.
