Scott is as canny as a .... well says it all, but if he goes out west with the F50 then he faces formidable local competion in Mike, Howard, and now Hugh (and the Steves at Maroomba, plus Network and Skippy) and WA is a very unique enviroment :} , WA inc.?, however, I would be very surprised if he doesn't already have enough work lined up in SA. Wonder where he has found "current" check and training pilots (there were a couple of old timers er 89ers left in MAS??)
56 seats MUST be a misprint - XR operates with 46 (hot galleys) and most companies have 50 or 52 configs but 56 hairy miners!!!???:ooh:

Max pax numbers for the F50 is listed as 62 as per AOM Weight and Balance Section. When the aircraft is configured with more than 50 seats, the front LH wardrobe is removed and the RH front Cargo compartment is smaller. This allows an extra row of seats. The galley is smaller, which allows another 2 seats. Seat pitch is still 32".
The aircraft XR got from Ansett have the larger 'Altas' galley that were bulit just for Ansett. Looking at the S/N's for the Alliance aircraft, it appears they have the higher MTOW of 20820 kg.

Yes, very small forward cargo bay and one dunny right next to the integral stairs.

Very basic galley down the arse end.

bentandtwisted 15th Feb 2007 10:17

I wouldn't say basic, it still has an oven and a room for a cart. All F50's have only one dunny at the front and they come standard with a sink with running water, unlike most Dash-8's. Plus you don't have the dunny stuck behind the FO.

56 pax comfortably to OLD
?????? Don't let them see an F50 carrying 46 pax, then they will realise just how sardined in they are!!! Flew to Learmonth a month or two back for the weekend and they had the 48 seat bastard on the route, that was cramped enough. But 56!! It boggles the mind!

dijon moutard:ok:

Dash L8 12th Jul 2007 15:17

Dijon... not all apparently... or was I seeing things???

12 rows x4 seats =48. No hot meal, only a salad type thingy. Hosties crammed in down the back behind a curtain in a galley that should be on a Dash 8!!!

What's the go then??

ditzyboy 12th Jul 2007 23:15

I thought XRs latest F50s did not have hot galleys, and indeed had more seats.

orva727 14th Jul 2007 10:19

HC has left and rumour has it an NJS man will join HD & TC. That will be three x-NJS. Does this say something????

Alliance expansion & earlier (YC) F50 operation

With the excellent industry backing of the airline owners, Alliance is in a great position to expand as they see fit. Opportunities are out there, and they are taking advantage of them as they arise.
The F100 is not a cheap aircraft to run, has limitations on its range and payload capability, but within their current theater of operations it is almost as cheap as you could expect (not as good as a 733, but within 12% per ASK).
Looking at historical references, Alliance/Flight West operated the F50 (AN) when a DHC8 went to NZ for a while; but the reference does not say how long the aircraft was in their colors.
There was also a rumor that Alliance were going to convert the F100 into freighters for the east coast trade, but the AirFreight (NZ)/Toll alliance would have canceled this project.
Ps. the AN F50's were 50 seats when 'Puffy Paul' (Keating) called Peter Ables & whinged about the seat pitch into CBR; they were then converted to 'F46''s

So could someone enlighten me as to why Rex are doing all these OLP charters? I heard that there was a problem with the an aircraft on the AOC? "Welcome to Rex flight 9492 on behalf of Alliance".
