I think rugby is one of the most vacuous, disgusting persuits imaginable outside of Gerbil Fletching. Imagine, a bunch of grown MEN, who work out in GYMS so as to develop BIG MUSCLES and then want to wallow about in the MUD with other MEN (who are also into big muscles..) and put their arms around each other in a SCRUM and then pat each other on the AR SE when they SCORE.. Boggles the mind. Old Sigmund Freud would have something to say about this sort of behaviour. Not to mention Fred Nile. Real men do Ballroom dancing. Or at least play Lacrosse...

Ralph the Bong I love guys like you.
Let me guess, you were always last to be picked at P.E.
You weigh 120 lbs and never had any sort of physical ability,
therefore rugby is an ape sport, right.
As your name suggests, you were probably one of the losers
Bonging on Saturday when the rest were participating in team sports.
I wonder how Sigmund would view your pitiful existance!
By your ballroom dance comment, you are obviously **** stiring.

With envy. Sigmund rarely got laid.
Imagine a Private Boys School, like say, Newington or Scots. All the other 4th. form boys have laughed at you because you picked Ballroom dancing as Wednesday afternoon sport. One day, the school mini-bus picks you (and some other kid in form 4) up and drives you through the school grounds. It is raining; has been all day. The other boys are running around a muddy foot ball feild wearing wet, dirty rugby uniforms. You are wearing something resembling a Tux. It is dry and you are warm. You drive about 1km. to the 'Sister' school down the road. It is called something like 'Merton Hall' or 'PLC'. The driver drops you off at the school hall. You and the other boy enter the hall and there are 30-40 3rd and 4th. form girls all dressed to the nines. With make up and perfume. And they are all curious about you, as you are about them. You know you will hold them all close as you dance with them and you will become friends with many of them.. and be invited to parties and stuff..Now, WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL???

Australia didn't play particularly badly, New Zealand are just playing damn good football at the moment.
were you watching the same game as me?? at the 80 minute mark the aussies were still trying to ram it up the middle without using their outside backs, seemingly not knowing how to. there were glimpses of the sort of form even i know tuqiri sailor and rogers are capable of, but the aussies clearly have some serious problems with the pace of their side at the moment, before the game jones was quoted as saying the pace of nz didn't worry the wallabies, does it worry them now??
a very satisfying result, GO BLACK, bring on the world cup, this time hopefully...

My comments were made in relation to our performance being better than the previous games this year - the problem we faced however is that it was against much tougher opposition.
Our errors were down, our lineout was much better (including a few good steals against the throw) and I thought the forwards looked much better. We just lacked direction in the link between the forwards and backs, through George Gregan and Larkham both being out of form. Larkham has an excuse and will only get better with each minute he spends back on the paddock. Gregan however, doesn't and needs to pull his socks up. The whole "i don't believe in passion" thing really p*ssed me off too.
And Ralph, I love your work.
To those who don't want to read about rugby, don't read this thread, just like I don't read anything that is a chance of mentioning 89 in it.

"Gregan needs to pull his socks up".....
Absolutely. He has been very ordinary (except for Irish game), hes not going forward one bit and is immediately putting Larkham etc. under pressure.
He is by far the worst performer of the three old experienced half backs in the tri nations. NZ at least have experimented with Devine to good effect. V der Weshblahblahblah is pretty ordinary.
There is no tried alternative to Gregan, Whittaker has been on the bench for about 7 years. Maybe he should at least get a go.
What selections did impress me was that of Flately in the centre role and Cannon who had an outstanding game.

No way.
Michael's breakaway own production "Lord of the Rings" was way less technically coordinated than Riverdance, in which he took no part in the choreography.
Were you any good at tiddlywinks by any chance? I was partial to an odd game in between RUGBY practice.
Are you actually what your namesake suggests, a talking bong, or a real person?
Oops.... make that "Lord of the Dance"

Just take a look at the files and you will see the relevance to aviation.
Extracts include
Jones-CRM issues, lack of adherence to MDA's
Sailor/Rogers-lack of experience on type, recommend re-do type rating
Larkham-inexplicable random use of TOGA
Gregan-inappropriate intercept angles,course overshoot, failure to capture glideslope, failure to set missed appraoch altitudes. Dual channel approaches poorly managed including failure to ensure second A/P engaged in command mode by 800ft.
As they say it's hard to soar like an eagle when you fly with a bunch of turkeys.

Wendell (Australia's Percy Montgomery) can run elusively (WHEN he runs straight as opposed to sideways) but his positional play and his defense is appalling (his opposite man Rokocko only scored a hat trick but hey whats THREE TRIES when Lord Bledisloe's silverware is on the line and a Webb Ellis Trophy defence about to start) ....no wonder the Waratahs are the loudest "keep Wendell in Queensland" campaigners.
Maybe(?):
-Replace Sailor (keep him on the bench) with Walker/Burke/Latham/McRae (pick the one in the best defensive form, they can ALL run with a ball in their hand but Wendell DEFINITELY IS is a revolving door and is ALWAYS out of position in defence);
-Rogers at fullback;
-Grey back in the Centres (some size and hitting power PLEASE), Australia always looks better with BIG Centres that can bash a hole and are impregnable in defence;
- Someone tell Eddie that running "hit ups" on the fringes of the ruck was VERY SUCCESSFUL for his Brumbies and MacQueen's Wallabies between 1999 - 2001 but people have noticed this in the last 2 years (though Eddie hasn't) and there are three defenders now always standing on the fringe weighing between 110kg and 130kg a piece and Australia goes through 4 tiring phases and don't actually cross the advantage line (which is why Larkham opts to kick so much now) - so JUST MAYBE he should try crash ball 2 to 3 wide (like England and New Zealand - the current top two Rugby teams in the world) since it works for them.
-Someone ask Rod MacQueen and John Eales what they are up to for the next 4 months and do they feel like some exercise.
Why:
-Australia stands the chance of getting thumped at Eden Park (by another 4 tries at least with another Kiwi half century at a ground where they historically play very very well);
-The way they are playing now Australia won't make the WC final and might get even get beaten by a wild card in a quarter final (this is how NZ played and went into WC 1999 and they got thumped by France in the Semi and they were lucky to make it that far);
-Rugby is Darwinian in that it is a constantly evolving game in how its played - adapt or face extinction (like NZ has adapted/evolved in the last 24 months and Australia hasn't changed one iota).

Traffic,
Love ya work, best laugh I've had for a while...
Went to the game and agree, the Bondi-ites could've left their cars unlocked for the the night. C'mon Aussie, c'mon.
Wendell looked tired, I don't think he deliberately tackled no.15 in flight. From where I sat he just ran into in and couldn't stop in time. Ah well, there's next year....
