DJ into DRW and other news
DJ has recommenced daily DRW ops ex BNE, with new flight numbers and dep/arr times.
DJ 449 now departs BNE at 2055 arriving DRW at 0035 local.
DJ 442 now departs DRW at 0110 arriving BNE at 0520 local.
Daily flights were cut to 5 services per week from mid January to 30/03 due to a lack of demand in the wet season.
With DJ commencing ops SYD-ASP from June 5 it is hoped that more services to DRW may follow in the second half of this year.
In an unrelated issue, Ian Thorpe was a surprise visitor to Darwin Airport this morning, i suspect he came up on QF last night and was seen boarding an Airnorth Metroliner bound for, of all places, Katherine on the direct TL 154 service, i was unable to get the rego. an unidentified source says he looked like he had just hopped out of bed.
I am sure Thorpie was glad to get to Katherine, i imagine it would have been a tight fit in the Metro!!
