Qantas offers flight to air show on new Airbus

Qantas will give airline enthusiasts a chance to travel to the biennial Australian International Airshow in February on its newest plane, the Airbus A330.

On sale yesterday, the flight will depart Sydney on February 16 and fly direct to Avalon Airport near Melbourne where it will remain on show all day before its return to Sydney.

Qantas executive general manager aircraft operations David Forsyth said he expected strong interest in the flight from aviation lovers.

“During the day, Qantas staff will be on hand to guide people through the aircraft,” Forsyth said.

This year’s AIA will feature displays depicting the development of aviation and is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors.

Packages including economy airfares and general admission to the show start from $365 per adult and $350 per child, with the Gold Pass package offering allocated seating for $425 per person.

Payment must be made at time of booking and packages are non-refundable.
