Angry Safety Aspect of Baggage Scanning??

Telling everybody it will take an extra hour or two to check in if you want a bag in the hold will greatly increase the urge for people to carry their bags into the cabin. In a rough landing or in severe turb these neck-snapping projectiles can launch out of the lockers and cause great amusement... Has any thought been given to the increase in such risk the announcement has created?

Maybe we should all fly in Russian airliners, where you carry on all your own bags? Might lead to problems of its own though.

It doesn't cause "an hour or two" delay in the States.

It may have just after Sep.11, but like all things if you have to do it, you get your sh&t in a pile real quick.
