Network interview
Hello all,
Has anyone heard back form network aviation for an interview date recently? Been about 3 months since last heard from them, said to be standby for an interview date.

That’s the most naively optimistic drivel I’ve ever read in my life. Pull that out in the interview and they’ll absolutely lap it up.

If you're not opposed to living in Perth and you want a jet job might i suggest applying for Skippers. You will start on a dash and then get the F100 after a year. You stay out of the QF group and can apply to mainline when they open. It is the fastest way to get into Mainline. Lastly, you sound like you're from GA and are used to getting the short end of the stick. From one GA person to the other, do not stunt your career and go to Network.

Remember to use the STAR method for interview questions. For example:
Q - Tell us about a time you prostituted yourself:
Situation - well I was too impatient staying in my IFR twin GA job when I didn’t get into QF/JQ/VA first go, so I decided to apply to fly a decrepit jet for peanuts and pay for my own endorsement to jump the queue.
Task - Well the task before me was that I had to feign long term interest in rig-pig flying, when secretly I was just using it as a stepping stone to a real job where I could look myself in the mirror with an ounce of self respect
Action - The action I took, rather than working on my skills and myself as a person, was I went to a website of pilots who made the same mistake applying to Network and just asked them for likely interview questions. Seemed easier than all that personal development hog wash.
Result - Well, due to nothing other than their lack of suitable applicants who will work for peanuts, I succeeded! I ended up getting the job, paying for my own training. My ultimate success was then quickly becoming bitter and twisted myself, complaining how unfair my situation was when others who had some patience were getting legacy money for the same job.

Network isn't that bad of a place to work. The new ED means the pay has been bumped up to a normal level, and you don't work nearly as hard as any of the other airlines. If you want to move to mainline avoid any of the subsidiaries, but if mainline isn't your goal (because it's not everyones), then yeah network is a decent place to work.

FYI Network management absolutely HATE their Pilots. They will crucify you in a meeting with "managers" if you put a foot wrong or make a mistake, or even just have an incident that's not your fault, they will NEVER support you if you have a problem at work or at home. Most pilots there have either given up, are looking to get out, some have a few years to go so just "put up with it". The jets are a disgrace & you will be late home every day, the flying is dangerous and after 12 months you likley will be pissed off and looking for another job, forget Qantas because Network won't "let you go" Your family will get sick of hearing the stories, you will start drinking more, sleeping less, getting fat, your wife will leave you, your kids won't want to be around you, your self esteem will implode, your mates will stay away from you, coz they are sick of hearing about how bad it is. Then you will become a "trainer" to try and get some respect and that won't work, now you are in freewill, just waiting to hit the ground. You can become friends with Evan but you will just get shanked in the showers like all snitches.
