Ghosts from the past

Was sat watching "Insight" on SBS last night when who should be an audience member contributing to discussion, one Peter Raven.

Only ever flew with Peter once, he was a 21YO instructor with Rossair visiting our country town from Parafield, had my first instrument flight with Peter, 2:40 in a 172 VH-DJB 23rd Jan '66. Our sole meeting.

Had a load of pax in the '90's when one passed an exercise book up to the cockpit with a request to fill it out, had been made up into a logbook where the pax logged all his airline and other flights associated with his world wide travels as an oil industry trouble shooter. Flipping through the pages I found out where Peter had ended up, 744 Capt with QF where the pax had logged a flight Cairns to Brisbane. On the program Peter said he retired off the 737 at age 68, wasn't aware QF allowed domestic to go that long. Nice to see some one has enjoyed an enviable career
