QF357 diverted 21 jan

Off topic a little, but QF94 LAX-MEL diverted to SYD today due to fog. I know freight is always an issue as is the westbound leg in general, but is the 380 not capable of that route and hold SYD as an alternate?

Depends when the fog appeared on the TAF. If it appeared after they’d already left LAX, then there’s not really much they can do about it is there.
