3rd Airline Again
Heard from a good source that somebody wants the Trans Australia Airlines title or company name that is tightly held by Qantas .
The other name mentioned was Australian National Airways.
If you are going to start from scratch then start at the beginning.
The TAA name does not really have international connotations though, so whats going on!Australian National Airways

Could i assume Solomon Lew has an office at Darling point.

I would think you may also find accountants offices at both Mount Macedon and Darling Point which act as the Registered Office for both companies. But if you want to really know, pay one of the agents for a full company search. Only takes a few minutes.

This "3rd airline" is looking less and less likely as analysts talk about equity swaps between major carriers.
SQ are VERY bottom line driven. They will take the cheapest way out to secure on carriage arrangements in OZ.
Generally, equity deals can be a lot easier to manage than setting up a new company operating in it's own right.
The major issue would be the OZ ACCC and I don't have recent knowledge of what the current regs are.
I certainly would not be making any plans based on SQ starting up in OZ in the near future.
I would be happy, however, to be proved wrong.

Most past Australian airlines are still registered, including Queensland Airlines (now Australian Air Express Courier P/L), Air Queensland (previously Bush Pilot Airlines P/L) - even Ipec Air (now Stinson's Electrical Installations P/L) and Butler Air Transport!
