Qld may open 1st

It's looking highly possible that Queensland routes like BNE/CNS maybe 1st to open domestically in Australia next month. NSW/Vic can't seem to get new corona cases under control.

Could it also be that Qld/NZ will be the 1st internationally routes ex Australia to open ?

Gold Coast certainly needs an influx of kiwis.

Must be huge pressure on govts to reopen everything ASAP.

The steady rise in cases in VIC and NSW is concerning.

The national daily confirmed cases was showing a good constant downward trend, however the past week has shown a gradual constant increase every day.

Not good news as we attempt to re-open the economy. Do it to early and it will be a disaster.

A few more weeks of lockdown now will be a lot cheaper than a few months dealing with a second wave in a few weeks. Nobody has done this before, take your time and get it right...

Do not be in a hurry!! Keep it locked down for a few more weeks at least. Who cares if planes don’t fly for another month or so?

The state premiers have a sense of total power now, don’t expect them to give it up anytime soon....until one of them does something and the rest follow like sheep.

Agreed and it won't be Chairman Dan moving first.

13,000 15,000 then 18,000 tests done in the past 3 days in Vic. You test more, you find more. A few states have had clusters that have been contained, the hospital in NW Tas and of course the QF staff at Adelaide airport. The meat works in West Melbourne is just the latest.

It’s great that QLD has a large intra state aviation market, hopefully they’ll be up and running soon.

I think this is because they're testing more so there fore finding more these extra findings appear to be controlled and not leading to mass outbreak, otherwise the Gov would be p#$%ing their pants.

Most of the recent Vic cases are from a cluster at a meat processing plant, 49 total now? - the other day was 22 new cases, 19 from the meat plant, 2 international travellers and 1 unknown.

Might as well wipe Vic off any maps, after Commy Dan gets thru with Victoria he will make the Chenobyl disaster look like a collapsed Lego city!

Remember, easing restrictions does not mean the pandemic is over. It just means your local ICU has a bed for you!

Not brilliant for those of us living in this arse-clown of a State. Chairman Dan loves the power trip. It'll be interesting to see the State break up of GDP fall when all States are open.

Dan’s making millions from Coronavirus fines so why would he be in a rush to get lives back to normal?!?

Gladys NSW premier was on the news this morning saying despite what the federal government want, she will be keeping NSW lockdown until end of June. She said don’t expect restrictions lifted until then. She said that before the cabinet meeting tomorrow because she does not want residents to get their hopes up. .

not going to happen. Jacinda has said that she won't reopen Tasman until all states show no new cases

So ? Tomorrow she'll say something different. Must be huge financial pressure on her to reopen.

1. huge ski market from Qld to NZ (not sure how those booked on VA or via SYD, or MEL will get there. Maybe air nz & qf will increase size of aircraft operating to AKL, CHC & replace some of VA flights to ZQN - even if Australians have paid to fly VA, they still have hotels, cars, ski lift tickets paid for, which they probably won't get a credit for, if they don't use when booked, so purchasing another airfare might not be out of the question)

2. huge kiwi market to Gold Coast & understand huge kiwi investments in gold coast hotels etc.

Who cares about rest of Australia.

I'm more surprised that the usual "Colorado Ski Resort" discussion hasn't occured yet from the sock farm of accounts.
