QantasLink / Cobham 717-2BL VH-YQS

What's happened to this aircraft? Hasn't flown since 11th February 2019? FlightAware says it's parked at YBBN.

7 Feb 2008 sistership VH-NXE had a 3.6g hard landing in Darwin that bent the fuselage and required extensive repairs. Aircraft was out of revenue service until 17 May 2008 = 100 days.

Same aircraft was the last bird in Canberra Heavy Maintenance 29 Jan 2019 to 14 Feb 2019 = 16 days

And sistership VH-YQW 24 Jan 2019 to 30 Jan 2019 = 6 days

VH-YQS is 93 days and counting......

Apparently a couple of 717s have some pretty major wing corrosion issues. Perhaps this is one of them?

Surely major corrosion would have been picked up during previous heavy maintenance TL.

Might not be a lot of motivation in CBR. KGI refueller mentioned Qantas have pulled the pin and have gone offshore somewhere.

Are you suggesting engineers are shirking their responsibilities because of a shift in maintenance contracts? Wouldn’t that be extremely unsafe?
