Newly created position Weather Manager at BOM

hi all, just seen a newly created position at BOM on Career One for a Nataional Manager at BOM. Would be ideal for a pilot who loves the weather to take on a different position.

Hope he/she's (better add female, don't want to upset some) got a window in his office to effect accurate forecasts for a change!:-)

Devil

Cynical mode; On.

A newly created position, eh? Newly created as in one that has never existed before, perhaps?
If so, no doubt it will be quite a well paid position, and a welcome (to the BoM) addition to the already existing Bureaucracy!

Taking up funds that could possibly be better spent in installing a few more Weather Observation Stations around the countryside which would add to our understanding of the Weather in Australia.

Cynical mode; Off

Disclaimer; Yes, I am in a bit of a cranky mood this evening!

You make a good point though Pinky, 100k p.a. could go a decent way to addressing some of the dark spots that have a reasonable amount of air traffic passing though.

Well stated Mr Pinky.

Perhaps they, the BOM, have never had anybody actually / nationally 'in charge' before...… perhaps they need a 'national' head to 'combat / deal with' climate change....??

Cheeerrrsss….
