Virgin Australia faces pilot hurdles after Lion Air hull loss

No Max sim in Australia so converting crews will have to sim in SIN...

Looks like the single type easy upgrade path isn’t working out quite as Boeing (or Virgin) might have hoped.

Obviously it’s important to learn how to cope with the new bits of code that are supposed to save you but could just as easily kill you.

The simpler and more foolproof they try to make them, the more complicated it all becomes.

The old ejet sim bay will be filled by a Max sim, so whether the first few crews go offshore remains to be seen.

Can you imagine what is going to be required as a differences course for NG pilots by the time CAsA has finished with this after the Lion Air fall out. Will it be a dual rating?

Old School Troppo. Ed's Bar or the Vuda Marina would be the perfect place for the Sim I reckon.

Love how the photo in the linked article is of an A320. Because Virgin don't have any photos of a 737 available apparently
