Secret life of a long haul flight

Just seen this programme on UK TV. Its all about a Qantas flight from London to Sydney. It is mainly about the cabin crew and its a really good ad for Qantas.

That's because it probably was an ad for Qantas, disguised as a doco.

They've done it before. Quite smart actually.

Just watched it. As you say, a glorified ad. Interesting that lots was said about the club cabin, but barely a mention of first - perhaps the first class pax didn't want the cameras invading their space.
One question - do the same crew do the whole flight? I was under the impression that flight crew and cc would be changed in DBX.

I watched it with some interest as I was curious. At the end of the programme I realised that I had learned nothing really. I would have loved to have seen some - indeed much - more of the flight crew.

London cabin crew usually only do LHR-DXB, 24+ hours stay, then back to LHR. A few occasionally going through to Sydney/Melbourne.

Thank you, that was my understanding. I assume that flight crew are always changed at DXB?

The Pilots are all Sydney or Melbourne based. 99% of the time they'll do SYD/MEL-DXB-LHR-DXB-SYD/MEL with adequate rest periods at each stop…..

If they just focused on the cabin crew it would of been less cringe worthy.

Unless you are cabin crew -worthless!

Watched this last night on You Tube. As most posters have mentioned it's really seems like a QF ad paid for by QF and starring QF cabin crew. The rest of those appearing are " extras ". I got totally bored and turned it off after 1/2 way through. There was another doco on you tube about paint drying so watched that , far more entertaining!!! Might be enjoyable for Cabin crew but the rest of the aviation world would be bored to tears!!!

Secret life of a long haul flight ...

I never imagined that a flight had a "life" so does the problem stem from the seemingly incomplete title? Add the word "attendant" and the content is explained.

Just had a quick look at that paint drying Youtube. The grass growing one might be a better watch.
But the ad looked great ( in comparison - but then, what wouldn't ). Tom Cruise's new movie - AmericanMade - humble Aerostar pilot meets the DEA, CIA and Pablo Escobar.

Thanks for that Bolthead. Looks like a great movie! You can tell Tom Cruise isn't a pilot though - not a white hat nor blouse to be seen.

I wonder what is worth more. The direct Cocaine business (production and sales) or the Cocaine Movie Industry?

I assumed that as they had briefed this crew they filmed them 24hrs later on their final leg to OZ.
