MCC Course requirements relaxed?

From 1 September 2015, pilots who want to conduct multi-crew operations for the first time must complete a course of training in multi-crew cooperation. A multi-crew operation is classified as a flight conducted in an aircraft that is certified for multi-crew operations, or a flight that is required by the regulations to be conducted with more than one pilot.
Previously the flying must be in VH registered aircraft. Presumably according to the above wording "for the first time" it seems more flexible in that pilots who have been flying foreign registered multi crew aircraft are exempt from undergoing the MCC course. Is that the correct?
