Qantas scraps carbon tax surcharge

Qantas scraps carbon tax surcharge | News.com.au

their spin doctors are in full flight!

QANTAS has removed a carbon tax-linked surcharge from its fares, but customers shouldn’t expect to find themselves paying less to fly.
The carbon tax-linked surcharge amounted to up to $7 but wasn’t added to the cost of domestic fares, with the airline absorbing the any costs into its bottom line.
Sure thing Qantas - lets see what the ACCC says about you removing the tax surcharge, but not decreasing fares. Hopefully Clive Palmers amendment will mean you get fined 250% of the surcharge you didn't give back to the customers

I hope the fares go up!

We can't sustain two airlines in this country charging less that what it costs to produce a seat.

If we want sustainable airlines with sustainable employment we need to charge a fair price for the product.
