QANTAS - A National Embarrassment

Interesting to read James Dunn refer to QANTAS as a national embarrassment. Quite simply, Air New Zealand has left QANTAS for dead, as an airline, as a business and as an investment.

The main differences being the management, fleet, customer service and staff engagement.

A tiny bit unfair guys, Air NZ does have a much reduced regulatory burden to bear.
Just on maintenance alone they are saving a bucket load of money on compliance and hey their system is recognized around the world so no double compliance costs to make sure you can market your unwanted airframes on the international market.
No ADSB to squander vast amounts on, to ensure ASA exec's get their performance bonus.
Which their going to have to spend all again very soon so they align with the rest of the world.
NZ has contained their bureaucratic corruption, Australia's is out of control.
What chance does Qantas have? up until now they could just acquiesce with the "Iron Rings" will because they could just add the cost to their ticket price, the punters will pay. Unfortunately those days are past, costs now bite. so wadda ya say Quaintass wanna join GA and sort these a...holes out???

Yes, with a username like that, he must be in management... Further proof being that he doesn't have a clue! Says it all really.
