Need help from QF Pilots

Hi Guys,

I was looking through QF flight plans and was wondering what do V.F.R and F.F.R means ? What's the rationale behind carrying this fuel ?

Just curious.

Thank you

Question

Apart from the question about why you'd bother looking through our flight plans, Variable Fuel Reserve and Fixed Fuel Reserve. The latter is 30 minutes at the landing weight. The former is 10% of flight fuel up to a particular limit normally expressed as fixed tonnage. This FFR depends on aircraft type.

Is there a reason you find our flight plans so fascinating?

Is the next question going to be: why is the FFR variable and the VFR fixed?

At VAI we don't carry VFR or FFR. We carry Contingency (CONT) and Final Reserve (FRSV). It's very different

Because Qantas pilots see themselves as the very best in the world and we humble Pprune readers can learn SO much from the paperwork that Qantas Gods use. Keg old son - your sarcasm is catching
