I guess with Paul Little snapping up the JHAS site, VA probably don't really have any other options for 330 A checks in Australia? Where have they been doing them before now?
Good luck to Little and the JHAS guys. Let's hope they can make a good go of it and be seen as more than just the plaything/cash cow of a much larger corporate group.
Given Little's ties to Toll Holdings, I wonder if Toll Aviation might put any work into the site as well?

I know of at least two LAMES with both 738 and 330 who were only given interviews for AME positions and were passed over.
Not sure exactly what VT were looking for in potential AMES but it appears heavily experienced type rated LAMES are not welcome at this time...

empire4.... I think you are on the money there..BTW from what I've been told..(Rumour) VA have booked in 9 slots to do their "A" checks in Singapore..4 VT engineers to accompany the A/C to carry out "Certification"..The A/C is to fly out on a Saturday morning and return on Sunday afternoon....I better check with the re-fueller for the details.

How dare they provide further LAME training and licence opportunities to their own loyal staff.
How dare they not neglect their own and just buy in new licence holders for a quick win.

.....WHY NOT? That's exactly what they used to do!
One might ask, why not profit from the short-sightedness of Qantas and expand their capabilities? In the process, picking up many highly trained staff handed to them on a platter by their chief competitor? They certainly did when it came to appointing a replacement for Brett Godfrey.
Will Virgin be the only airline on earth not to fill the voids being left by the kamikaze management at Qantas?

Maybe VT management don't want the level of bitching and moaning that is evident here on Pprune, especially in the 'QF Eng Cull' thread, to get inside their hangars?

VBA Engineer,
Why don't you remove whatever it is that is irritating your recutum?
All I wanted was an AME job after being retrenched, what's so unreasonable about that?
Cheers K9P.

From what I'm hearing they've gone through head office like a dose of epsom salts and the entire business unit is up for sale. And so is Thiess.
Interesting imes ahead.
