When will VB,VA & PB merge and/or expand?
All seems to have gone very quiet..................
Good news with the SQ EY NZ tie up's but very little actual changes and no expansion of any sort for any of the virgin group of airlines. Is there any requirement for virgin to operate aircraft into singaopre as part of an alliance partnership with SQ or can SQ operate all the services?

Probaly not the best time for rapid expansion with the higher fuel bill hitting them. Not many carriers are expanding, Jetstar/Tiger not really moving either. ATR's look to replace the E170's in the short term, longer term expansion once more arrive overtaking the E170's original fleet numbers. New 737 arrivals seem to be replacing those that are currently ending lease, some have already gone to Southwest.
From memory Borghetti said by the end of the year they will consolidate all airlines. So far out of a 74 strong Narrow body fleet, only 3 have the new treatment (new config).

Interior re-configs from what Ive been told will be fairly rapid from next month on the newer B738's (VBY and VBZ and VUR onwards) as for re-paints on those aircraft that will take a little longer. Quite a few new B738's coming into the fleet will be obviously delivered in new paint and interior config YVA being the latest.

V Australia and Pacific Blue will operate as Virgin Australia by the end of 2011. This is stated on Virgin Australia press releases.
However, Polynesian Blue will retain its name for now - it is a joint venture with the Samoan government (which owns 49%) operating one aircraft.
Regards,
David
