Arn't Qantas pilots nice!

This isn't a 'blow wind up their ar$3 thread' it's a thread asking, just what is the union fighting for?

Qantas pilots are fighting to give Jetconnect and Jetstar pilots a payrise. Period.

There is no security in that! There is no common sense in it. We are not asking for a pay rise, well, a rise less than inflation!

There will be a clause that prevents Jetstar or Jetconnect from flying a route within 12 months of QF pulling out. This wont stop them from doing it anyway.

Besides, once the 787's are based in Singerstan, no Aussie pilots have a chance.

So really, what are we fighting for!? Im not saying roll over and die, im saying, lets vote to kick Joyce out. Our EBA should read, we will take a 2.5% rise and our well deserved staff travel benefits back, in return Joyce steps down with NO bonus!!!!!!! And the WORKERS decide the next CEO, not the board.

Can't decide if you are serious or just totally nutcrackers!!! Are you saying that if AIPA win the case and Qantas decides there is now no point in keeping Jetconnect running then the Qantas pilots will step in and say 'no, keep it running and just give them a payrise'.

By the way you have already lost the PR war, everyone I speak to is certain the 'greedy' pilots are seeking a 26% payrise. I know that is crap but it would appear the public don't, instead of trying to get me a payrise you should be focussing on turning around this public misconception.

BB, totally agree, it is a propaganda war which AIPA seems to have lost already. That should be of more concern to Qantas pilots than trying to get Jetconnect pilots a payrise.

The propaganda war is waged by proxy. The Qantas Group has a huge media spend, and that gets a large editorial pull. AIPA is never going to get a "fair" run in the commercial press (hint, the word commercial).

The only real avenue to fight is through the court system & various tribunals, hence the jetconnect case. There are more nuances to this case that meet the eye, for example to define the jurisdiction of the Fair Work Act.

Geoffrey Thomas, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Your article contains so many factual errors, that it is absolutely clear that you and Harbison are simply puppets for Joyce's propaganda.

How much is Joyce paying you, Thomas? Going to report accurately on that one?

Hang your head in shame, Thomas, and Harbison. You are liars with a keyboard and an audience. And that is a travesty.

Is the user-name 'balance' an oxymoron?
