Give the bloke a break, AJ announced only a few days ago about the redundancies, all being in MEL bare in mind, most QF engineers have a family base in MEL already - likely hood of them moving?
I'm sure just like any other company they would be open armed in such a case, and I'm sure JH/VA/BAE would take the majority with the minority going else where at their own accord.

Where exactly is this hangar going to be built? SACL just expanded the car park so not many acres left.

There are new hangars proposed for both virgin and Qantas as far as I know. I don't believe a sod has been turned for any new hangars at KS airport.
