Another Airbus Computer Fright
This time an A320 on approach to Mackay, Queensland, Australia on 20 September.
During descent, the crew received multiple ECAM messages, the autopilot and auto thrust disengaged and primary flight displays including altitude and airspeed data were lost from the normal sources but were available from the standby system.

What is it with you anti-airbus brigade? This sounds like the loss of one or a number of electrical busses resulting in the loss of a number of systems. It could just have easily been a boeing, and the results would have been very similar.
The aircraft remained in control, the standby systems operated as designed and the flight ended safely, just as it would have in a boeing.
A high workload for the crew but it sounds like they handled it well.

OMG!!!! you mean the pilots actually had to control the aircraft in all three axis manually and at the same time use the thrust levers?????

Except that apparently it wasn't a Boeing...another AB escapade.
Rest assured there will be a Boeing soon that will lose the list of helpful aids listed in the thread opener......but probably there will be about a dozen

ADC/ADIRU (and what ever airbus call them) failures are becoming the" Eng failures of the 1950s for the industry.
