Virgin depressurised

Heading home tonight we heard Virgin 9060 (or something similar) making reports to Centre at A090 and requesting descent at 500 fpm (whilst remaining in CTA). They were given a SID such as one would expect for a flight from the West.

There's been no mention of a DP flight in the news. What was this?

Sounds like a ferry flight number.

Saw a PB E-Jet ferry out of Perth today, apparently it had been hit by lightning the other day and had a hole in it. There was also an larger than normal amount of speed tape on the L/H engine cowl. I suggest you heard this aircraft ferrying into BNE for repairs, or application of more speed tape!

There has been big disruption to DJ's WA network over the last couple of days due to the loss of that frame.

I wonder if that's why I was on an Alliance F100 on Sunday.

Yes it was a ferry flight, however it was bound for Melbourne via Adelaide. A very long flight at A090 below 250kts

Actually it was bound for Brisbane via Adelaide. About 7-8 hours flying I believe.
