Air Transport World article on being a Airline Pilot

An interesting, balanced article on the pilot situation in the USA. Some interesting points raised none of which are going to go away in a hurry.

Just think before the GFC in Aus there were people going straight from flight school to the right hand seat in regional airlines, how safe is this?

Well it can be done safely, as long as time and money is spent, just as the article points out.

Can anyone see an Australian airline spending US$326,710 PER CADET like Emirates claims.......

Oh but hang on Australia's pilot labour cost are to high.....
