dodgybrothers, which Oz domestic sectors have you seen, if any, operated by NZ crew?
Isn't there a shortage of NZ f/o's as there are OZ f/o's staying for a short term over in NZ to help out, not to mention pulling in very good coin?

Not dissimilar to the Jq training Captains helping train their own low cost replacements. Ala the Kendell/ Ansett Crj experience 10 years ago. Don't complain when they take your 330's/ 787's.

Pull the cord and jump, its time to get of the ride
You think its any better elsewhere? The behaviour of Impulse/ Jq pilots over the years has ensured that it is not. You made your bed, now lie in it.

Brutus, I wouldn't say that either situation is acceptable, just for the record.

Funny when you look at it in perspective. Jetstar started with Impulse offering to work the 320 operation on their cost base then again with the 330 international. With all the "seniority issues" and "entry slots" for QF people, Jetstar has become a mess. If I was a manager I would make the 787 a seperate operation and start with a clean sheet. AKA V AUS

Couldn't agree more, the time to stop losing work to Jetstar NZ was when it was first announced that Jetstar NZ was being set-up. A little bit of united thinking and maybe some union action could have stopped it in its tracks or atleast ensured all Jetstar pilots everywhere were on the same pay scales and seniority list, then this would have never been an issue. Complaining about it now is very much a case of parking the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff.

Soon Bruce will announce detail of the Jetstar Cadet Scheme. By design it will generate profit. When does an airline become a flying school? A disgrace, but the punters will come.

Soon you'll be told that all you J* Oz pilots arent suitable for the NZ/SIN operations...that you'll just 'pollute' the culture. Then, when AIPA negotiates an MOU so that you can fly 'their' 330's/787's, you'll have to resign from J* Oz. All the J* NZ/SIN pilots will then complain that 'their' Commands/FO slots have gone to all the high paid, living on the gravy train J* Oz pilots.

Dejavu????

What goes around comes around......

Oicur.

You would be correct in what you say about labour costs in JQ, EXCEPT that all the office wallahs and other assorted blunts in melbourne are paid EXACTLY the same money their counterparts in mainline, and indeed in other parts of industry in Australia are paid.

The only people on reduced conditions are the pilots, flight atts and LAME's

Wake up and smell the coffee champ, we have all been sold a pup.

Wink

Interesting that despite having a stoush with mohikan on a different thread, he (or she) is on the money on this one.
