Pacific Flier to start 2nd half of March 2010

just heard that Pacific Flier will starts A310-300 ops in 2nd half of March.

Latest delay caused by objections from other airlines.

They will apparently fly into BNE 3 times a week & undergo some regular maintenance at BNE on Mondays, after landing early morning.

It will then depart Tue am, back to Micronesia.

So has anyone heard more about Pacific Flier, looking to book a trip to Palau and a direct BNE ROR flight would beat the hell out of going via Guam, but 1 old A310 and 1 flight a week, gonna put a serious dampner on my holiday if it breaks down in Brisvegas!!!

I would be surprised if they get off the ground and even more surprised if they last more than 6 months

Flying to Manila (Clark) would be the same as an operator starting a service to Sydney (Goulburn)

As of mid-next month they will fly ex-OOL instead of ex-BNE.

Should be interesting to see an A310 in YBCG. Must have been a fair while since they were about!

I was in correspondence with the GM Shane Styles about booking a holiday later this year. He informed me that they would be flying ex-OOL soon. Probably because it is cheaper I suppose.

They started on 14 June into OOL.

Loads appeared to have been running at 7-10%. No joke. Did anyone even know they were coming??

Other than a radio show which would have had the attention of about 100 listeners, I haven't seen any word of it. Not even a news release on the OOL website

They have just about everything they need, touristy destination, cheap fares, inclusive package. Just no advertising >.<
