'That' TN AD
I was about to make a reply on a now closed thread, and have posted the same on the TAA & the DC9 thread.....who has a link to that video of the tail mounted camera on the TAA 727, fantastic footage, nothing on todays trickery perhaps, but brilliant stuff in its day, over the red centre, the Reef, alongside 'The Goldie'.......has anyone found a link to that?? It loooked especially good when you saw it at the movies....on the big screen, right before the Val Morgan AD ??? Priceless AD that 'un...

TN's Allan Searle was involved (may even have been the project manager) for the photography as I recall. Last I heard he lives in Melbourne. If you can track him down he may well have all sorts of stuff in the archives relating to the advert and work up.

TAA Museum?

You could try the TAA Museum near the Sim centre at Essendon; they're converting a lot of archive material to DVD.

thanks for the little trip down memory lane with that youtube link.
i remember the ad as a young kid. even then i was already convinced i was destined to fly. seeing the first officer kick the tyres, catching the crew bus with hosties that were/are eye candy, rotating a new widebody out of tsv, flying out over the harbour and forgetting its nadp1.
all the great imagery that cements a young blokes dream to make it.

I like this one, it was absolutely the last ad campaign Ansett ran, Gary Toomey's last-ditch effort to keep the thing afloat.

it was Tango Juliet Bravo that had the camera mounted on the fin - after she was retired.
VH-TJB was designates as a 727-76 - not a 176 for some reason. She was most certainly a 100 series but not a 727-176. I have no idea why, but someone may be able to answer.
I posted a remark in another topic asking for info re an Ansett training video I got my head in back in '91.
One of my catch phrases then, and I am sure it hit the video on Golden Wing/First Class/Business Class was - "Absolutely" - ie: "Can you check my baggage all the way to London?" answer - "Absolutely".
The good and true dudes and dudettes at AN ADL made me very aware of something I had no idea I was doing - as we don't.
So I may be resposible, but take no direct responsilbility for the collapse.
The Toomster should never have plagiarised a simple load controller.
We bite!
Best all

When I contacted them some time ago, they advised that they had all the tail mounted footage and were working on it. Let's hope so. It was fantastic!
