New Airline - Pacific Wings (Wet Leasing From Our Airline)

I don't think this has found its way here yet, or I've missed it.

Geoffrey Bowmaker, the former CEO of Nauruan carrier Our Airline is working to establish a new carrier in Australia called Pacific Wings using a wet-leased Boeing 737-300 from his former employer.
"We are looking closer to October to start flying and tickets will potentially go on sale in July," Bowmaker tells ATI.
He says Pacific Wings will be wet-leasing a 737-300 from Our Airline, the carrier where he was CEO up until about 12 months ago.

Dunno about entering the NZ fray, but New Caledonia could develop into something. Geoff B is not a beginner at this, so let's wish him luck and not bag him here.

I don't think for a moment this is being done without the full expectation it will work. Mind you that could be said about SAW and OZ etc., but those two had deep pockets and could withstand significant start up costs whereas I'm not aware if PW has these same resources so would consequently expect they've have done their homework. According to those I know in the financial industry, that chap from Kidmans is no dummy when it comes to matters like that.

Good luck to them. It's pleasing to see a positive development in aviation after the SAW, OJ, MacAir outcomes. Might eventually see some more jobs, too.

Now let's wait until ITS pops up again with his negativity - he's very anti anything to do with OA. Looks like his sources let him down big time on this occasion - I think it was 3G's who challenged him a few months ago to check his information.
