I'm led to believe that the company has an obligation to sit down with the union and carry out an autopsy on the process with SP and the Wook overlooking it I'd love to be a fly on the wall.

Me thinks that'll be where the home truths will be found out

JV what an @$$hole you are, I can't imagine what ticks inside you if anything at all but you are correct on one thing, QE mgmt will not consult with the union on the sydney appointment they'll be picked via the interview 'cough cough' process thats apart of the 380 agreement and then theyll join Team 380, thats an opportunity the melbourne boys will never get...........btw suckholes enter through the left door

The Mr Fixit

Haven't had the opportunity to visit for a while but what exactly do you mean by

and then theyll join Team 380, thats an opportunity the melbourne boys will never get.
From where I stand being endorsed on the Dugong and not being part of "Team 380" could only be a good thing, I'm sure they will keep any extras and jollies to themselves in any case so what's there to be gained???

Anyone know if the guys in MEL who are being trained have to sign a contract (like the guys in SYD), and agree to the flexible rostering clause, or has this already been consolidated into our award for A380 LAME's?

The EBA clauses relating to A380 training had to be acknoledged in writing at the time of expressions of interest.

Other than that there hasn't been any document waving by MGMNT yet other than applications to Aviation Aus for assessment of training requirements for B1.

Yep, you are right. And I don't think that one will be produced as I was told it is now all incorporated under the consolidated award. This gets around the problem QF had with our extended hour agreement.

A question to you guys that will be trained on the A380 outside of SYD.

Will you become part of the hallowed Team A380 or will you remain in QANTAS Engineering?

Short Circuit

Read post #24

No mention of becoming part of Team 380 and no document signing to date.

Short circuit, I think I can see where you are coming from.

Conditions for an A380 LAME can be found in the new consolidated award, and seem to differ to our conditions. For example it seems that their extended hour roster can be changed by the company with 2 days notice. Does this only apply to the "Team 380" guys, or all B1/B2 380 LAME's in general? And if it applies to all 380 LAME's, then how can they be aligned to any generic servicing crew?

Maybe Qantas sees this as an avenue to have us all on flexible rostering with the rollout of new aircraft types in future.
