Jetstar and Bags

I believe the YBBN - YBMK - YBBN Jetstar A320 couldn't open the baggage hold at YBMK last night. As a result all the bags destined for Mackay returned to Brisbane, and the bags destined for Brisbane remained at Mackay.

As of about 10:30am the bags still had not arrived at Mackay. Some very unhappy onestar passengers.

Doesn't the A320 have 2 main holds as well as the 'bulk' hold as well? Can understand a jammed or stuck door on one but all 3 ? Unless they have to 'reuse' the Cans and had none spare in MK I guess ?

I think you will find that in the small print of the ticket the extra $10 is only to load the bags onto the aircraft - it is another $10 if you want them at the destination otherwise they go back to the departure point, it makes sense - wait till Ryanair get hold of this charge

Hey; I've travelled with airlines which could open all hold doors, but still left bags behind

Similar problem with AN A320 at ADL in my short tenure there - a failure in the linkage between the handle and the pins that plug into the fuselage to anchor the door.

Biggest problem was a couple of dishlickers that were meant to race that night somehwere in the Bogan suburbs of Adelaide.

It took over 90 minutes to rectify after the floor was pulled up to release the poor wuppies - it was over 40C outside too.

Best all

Blue Rinsed?

Nothing wrong with a few "Blue Rinsed", after all Ansett had some "Old Boilers" I recall someone saying once. Gave the term "Boiler Attendant" a whole new meaning.

Age is irrelevant.

Service is what counts.

Freddie Frinton for example

Now I know why I finally had a win on the dishlickers. The ones that were supposed to win had an involuntary sweat in the cargo hold.
Thanks Ansett.

Fine Cotton inquiry to follow.

P.S. I've spent the money.
