I have seen their A330 abroad a fair bit, in the Middle East, mostly in Kuwait, and its quite strange the POB is only 4 when they are heading back east (to Australia) Maybe its freight they are bringing over not soldiers.

I'm with TBM.
Seems a very strange time to be starting this type of operation in what is already a fully serviced market.
A lot of charter work would be required to keep 2 A320's profitable. But, there does seem to be a lot of cash floating around with this company at the moment.

The A330 is a regular scheduled flight. If the personnel in the area of operations are going home or on leave they will be on it. If there are no big rotations of troops or leave it does often fly back pretty empty.
That said they may have also gone over with a lot of freight on an unscheduled flight and accordingly no leave/rotation was planned.
has that SAW look to it
Don't know much about SAW but the times I have flown with Strategic, they were fantastic (apart from no alchol onboard-military rules).

The A330 is a regular scheduled flight
it is a closed CHARTER flight carrying defence personnel and equipment/freight as and when required usually on a regular basis ..
.. and needless to say I think it is definitely barking up the wrong tree assuming it is a SAW re-incarnation, for exactly the reason mentioned by FFG 02.
I'm thinking that it is Strategic Aviation being re-vamped as it expands and morphing into Strategic Airlines ..
good on them I say ..

Thanks FFG 02, I thought there was more to it, They come over here with personnel, sometimes via Doha.
Will Strategic be hiring for the A330 anytime soon? I applied I think about 2 years ago when they were hiring.
