"Cocos and Christmas are going ahead,in fact very soon daily as this is a market yet to be fully exploited"

You have to joking!! What loads are you expecting 10-15 people a day?

Whilst it might be a slightly untapped market, but there is little to no ifrastructure out there. No hotels, no resort, no casino anymore. Unless you expect the pax to stay at that new beaut detention center.
And sure theres talk of en Eco-Tourist attraction in the future to support Christmas Island when the mining ends there, but I can't see a daily service EVER being viable.

RUP

Whatever you are on you should be selling it to the masses. What about calling it SkyAirWorldWater ? Maybe you should change your name to Nero.....fiddling while Rome burns.

Sky will one day be a world airline growing so much that overseas manpower would be needed to satisfy its expanding markets far away as USA,UK,China,India,Brazil,Russia etc just to name a few.
Mate. What the f*ck are you on about?

Perhaps getting a handle on Aus and Nearby areas should be a priority?

In an earlier post I suggested that the fall-out from losing one's job could trigger various other stressors such as illness, divorce, losing the house etc. The stress of holding on at SAW could be worse than the stress of being sacked. It has finally tipped RUP completely over the edge. Don't mock him, he needs some serious help. If this is what happens when he's off it, he should stay on the medication at all times.

Very Off topic...

So, the plan is to keep 2 of the 190's and ditch everything else (1x 170 and 2x 145)
Hoping this isnt true but herd.... they want to keep the ditchings of the 145s and 170, and go for another 190 making 3 190s (by the end of this year) and even the possibility of a 4th by this time next year Perhaps try 2 out see if that levels sky out a little bit... before you "need" more

Anyone else herd something along those lines?

Cocos and Christmas are going ahead,in fact very soon daily as this is a market yet to be fully exploited.
Point 1. The service begins in April...twice a week, not daily.

Point 2. Not fully exploited...what do you think NJS have been doing for years?

NJS run an RJ70 out there. Basically a 70 seat aircraft but they lose some seats to seat freight packs outbound. THEY CANNOT FILL THE AIRCRAFT. So if NJS cannot fill their aircraft how will SAW. The federal subsidy can also be withdrawn over the next two years, so that will not help.

Two days flying with five days on the ground at PH. Don't even think that they will pick up charter in PH with all the other jet charter companies already chasing what comes up.

HOW do they expect to cover costs let alone make a profit?

It is unusual for everyone to be united in wanting to push someone off a cliff but Rup you have fallen into that category.

What is your prescribed dosage? whatever it is, please, please double it.

I believe that Lithium is the most successful for Bi-polar disorder.

Mate, please wander off the reserve of this thread or wander off to the bottom of the garden where the fairies hang out.

Timber,

if you are correct and the contract has gone elsewhere then SAW are absolutely gone! For all parties concerned I hope that you are wrong

Rock's in head?

The thought of an Australian Operator chasing a contract between Europe and Kabul is mind blowing.... and does throw a strange light on the management quality of SkyAirworld. Nuts.... if you ask me...!
There are rows of airlines in Europe with excess B737's, A320's, B757's etc, all far better placed and equipped to do the job.

Timber,

Agreed and a far better track record in performance from the local operators.

If SAW can't achieve a seamless operation in Oz (far from it) how do they expect to do it on the other side of the world. Much less how do they do it cheaper?

Amsterdam Airlines

Reports are in the press and on Amsterdam Airlines website.

Amsterdam Airlines - first class aviation services - Long term contract

There wouldn't be two of those contracts I think.....

I would think that the act of insolvency by SAW has probably caused a default under the Christmas Island contract. It must be very embarrassing for the Government to award the contract and have this happen so soon.

So much for due diligence.

It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Well those that know......are they back flying yet? If not when?
That is the big question, while the restructure goes on and there is no flying ,no income, things have got to be on the slide.
Have been told they have to do a proving flight around the Cocos islands before starting the contract, that will cost a few $$ with no income again.
Daily to the XCM CCK .....id like to see that. If that is thier plan then I can see how they got in the situation they are in.
