It’s the carrier’s first Indian Ocean route and SkyAirWorld will

145170190, any professional engineer would not have hung around and would have gone elsewhere but the truth is most of the engineers at sky couldnt get a job elsewhere. Morons leading a bunch of morons.
Many there with very tarnished history.
That post is exactly why users have their posting rights restricted, threads get locked and threads disappear!!!
Any further posts of that nature and this thread will join the last two threads about this airline!

Flying Monk, does that publication announce news as it breaks, or is it a monthly with old stuff? Because if it was announced today, yippee, it means they are still a viable business and therefore we have been worrying about the lack of pay for no good reason. The cheque is in the mail.
I think you'll find the E190 hasn't done the HIR-NAN part of the ANG contract for some time now.
I've a mate flying with another operator into HIR and he tells me some disturbing stories about the professionalism of a certain operation - more than a few concerns about wrong, and not unintentional by his accounts, radio reports and compromised separation as a consequence.
For the mods - the Charlton statement is well and truly in the publc domain now so does that continue to make it "privileged"?
Point me to where it is in the public domain and I'm more than happy to have it posted here.

geeup, the 145 was operated CNS-POM to augment the PX F100's not from SYD.
The 190 on POM-HIR-NAN rtn highlighted the inadequacy of that aircraft on that route. It also highlighted 'operational' weakness' and failings of the organisation in general.
Skystar320, not only weren't the jungle jets around in '89, neither was ScaryAirWorld.

I understood that during the EBA negotiations with NJS crews, there was some concern that the pilots would take industrial action. NJS hired/charted SAW to have the E170 sitting on the ground in Perth in case. It did one or two trips for NJS during that time. It was always a short termed contract. It had nothing to do with '89.

ASIC Search
Just search ASIC for Sky and it has come up with:
309A notification of a charge, dated friday 20-2-09.
I'm pretty sure it's to do with secured creditors but i have been known to be wrong before!!!!
Any thoughts anyone?

Skystar320, I'm pretty sure you'll find that it was actually Rio or BHP who paid for the aircraft and crew to be on standby in case the NJS pilots did take industrial action. Therefore not an NJS contract.

Lordofthewings.
I can agree with you in some aspect of your statement, but please don't tarnish all of the guy's with the same brush.
There were/are some professional engineers that tried to keep them on the straight and narrow and stayed because they were told by DJC that things would get better and the idiots above would soon be gone.
I believe that their only fault is that they trusted him.
I had the pleasure of working with some outstanding engineers, no corners were cut and they were often in the line of fire from the idiots above because of it. These guy's are well known and most if not all have now found other employment.
There are a few good engineers left and I wish them the best of luck.

this is certainly public now
From Australian Aviation online:
* SKYAIRWORLD ‘PAUSES’ TO RESTRUCTURE: Brisbane based charter and RPT airline SkyAirWorld announced on February 22 its decision to temporarily “pause all flying operations in the short term” as it bids to restructure its organisation.
“We remain committed to our customers, our staff and our suppliers and will work with all parties in the coming weeks as part of our restructuring process,” SkyAirWorld CEO David Charlton said in a statement. “This prudent decision was made with careful consideration. SkyAirWorld deeply regrets the impact this decision will have on our customers and staff”. This latest announcement came after the airline had already laid off 40 staff and suspended its ERJ-145 operations on February 16. SkyAirWorld had started Brisbane-Cloncurry-Cairns services last October with the two former LOT Polish Airlines ERJ-145s, and said the service had become unviable. The aircraft are currently parked at Cairns.
SkyAirWorld says it is still committed to the launch of services to Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands with E-190s from April 3 2009.
